Giessbach II, 1-3 October 2008 (Davos, Switzerland): Combating the Financing of Terrorism

Since 9/11, tremendous efforts have been made and large financial sums have been invested to build up efficient anti-terrorist financing systems. Nearly eight years later, concrete results are still difficult to identify.

This year's 'Giessbach' AML and CFT conference will discuss some of the main challenges today, including ways to improve targeting, seizing and freezing, and confiscation of terrorist¹s assets, the implantation in the domestic legal framework of the mechanisms required by international standard setters, and issues arising from maintaining fundamental human rights standards.
