Misozi Samuti Chimbe, joined the Basel Institute on Governance in August 2018 and is currently Senior Programme Manager, based in Malawi. She initially worked as Financial Administrator, became Programme Manager for Malawi in 2019 and Programme Manager, Southern and East Africa in 2024.

In her current function as Senior Programme Manager, Misozi supports the delivery of the Basel Institute's International Centre for Asset Recovery (ICAR) programming in Zambia and Tanzania.

Misozi has extensive experience in programme design, reporting and stakeholder engagement, and has successfully led teams and managed complex projects in collaboration with international donors such as the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Global Affairs Canada and USAID. Her previous roles as a Financial Administrator and Finance and Administration Manager honed her skills in financial reporting, risk management and donor relations.

Misozi is an accountant by profession. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Cum Laude) in Accounting from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, and has further enhanced her expertise with certifications in Forensic Accounting from the University of West Virginia.
