From 30 to 31 March 2017, the OECD invites pioneers from a variety of backgrounds and academic disciplines to share their latest evidence and findings in corruption at the Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum in Paris. Researchers from the Basel Institute will be present to discuss their findings on new approaches to anti-corruption. 

Through research poster sessions, participants of the Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forumare inspired to join the debate for mobilizing integrity data to advance policy insights. The series of poster presentations results from a competitive Call for Papers held by the OECD which will showcase exciting findings on integrity and anti-corruption.

Claudia Baez Camargo, Head of Public Governance Research and Nikos Passas, visiting professor, will present a poster entitled Hidden agendas, social norms and why we need to re-think anti-corruption, where they advance a call to re-think how corruption is conceptualized, studied and measured in order to substantially improve the practice and effect of anti-corruption. The arguments are based on emerging evidence from two on-going research projects conducted by the Basel Institute on Governance across seven countries in East Africa, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

The OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum is the premium public event on integrity and anti-corruption worldwide, bringing together relevant policy communities as well as the private sector, civil society organisations and academia. In addition to the Basel Institute’s poster presentation, Gemma Aiolfi, Head of Corporate Governance, Compliance, and Collective Action, is speaking on a panel on State-owned Enterprises in the Marketplace: How to Avoid Corrupt Practices. Find out more
