Yaroslav Minervin joined the Basel Institute on Governance in October 2024 as Specialist, Corruption Prevention (Communications) in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Yaroslav launched his career in communications and the media in 2010, after graduating with a Master's degree. He started out as a local news reporter, broadcaster and editor. In 2013, Yaroslav joined a central TV channel, where he dedicated himself to investigative journalism, producing nearly 70 TV spots and investigations on crime and corruption.

In 2015, he became part of a team of a top-rated weekly TV programme, where he produced reports and documentaries on politics, international relations, war and economics from Ukraine and abroad.

After eight years in journalism, Yaroslav moved into the field of political and business communications in 2018. He developed and implemented media strategies, provided consulting services, managed press relations and devised creative solutions in public relations, analytics and project management.

In 2023-2024, Yaroslav gained experience working as a communications specialist in an international technical assistance project and as the Head of Department in the Ukrainian National News Agency.
