Matthias Maurer Rueda worked at the Basel Institute from October 2019 to December 2019 as a research and project support intern with the Public Governance Division.
 
Prior to joining the institute, Matthias gained relevant experience as a junior consultant in the field of social entrepreneurship at LeFil Consulting in Zurich, and worked for the Embassy of Switzerland to the United States of America in Washington, D.C.
 
Matthias holds a Masters Degree in Poverty and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex, UK, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Zurich.
