Chang Carmen Pun Tanchiva joined the Basel Institute's Green Corruption programme in Latin America in May 2025 as a Specialist, Asset Recovery, based in Peru. Prior to that, she had already worked for the Institute for several months as a consultant on asset recovery issues.

Having specialised in criminal law, Carmen previously served as Assistant Prosecutor in the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Offices in Peru. In this and other positions within the Peruvian Public Prosecutor's Office, she was dedicated to investigating complex corruption cases, tracing illicit financial flows and seeking the confiscation and recovery of assets of illicit origin. She has extensive experience in developing special investigative strategies and procedures for corruption cases.

Carmen holds a law degree from the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal in Peru and is a Master's candidate in international and transnational criminal law at the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja in Spain.
