Mariana Pérez Escobar joined the Basel Institute on Governance as a Programme Officer for the Green Corruption programme in January 2023. 

Prior to joining the Basel Institute, Mariana worked for four years managing international partnerships between multiple education institutions, creating projects to ameliorate inter-institutional relationships and innovation.

She has written multiple case studies for MBA courses and has authored chapters on different books and subjects such as entrepreneurship and education. She also directed different postgraduate courses at Universidad Privada Boliviana (Bolivia) on Agile Methodology, Project Management, Eco-sustainability and Triple Impact enterprises. 

Mariana holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Rennes 1 (France), an MSc in Process Engineering specialised in Chemical Processes and Effluent Treatment from Joseph Fourier University (Grenoble-Alpes University in France), an MBA with a specialisation in International Management from Universidad Privada Boliviana (Bolivia) and a Masters in Business Intelligence from Universitat de Barcelona and OBS Business School (Spain).
