Betim joined the International Centre for Asset Recovery at the Basel Institute on Governance in October 2023 as an Associate, Asset Recovery in Kosovo. 

Betim is an adept linguist with over two decades of professional experience in translation, interpretation, public relations and administrative roles across various international and local organisations in Kosovo. Most recently, he served as an Interpreter/Translator at BDO Kosovo, where he specialised in both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation, notably for conferences and online training. Prior to this, Betim contributed his linguistic expertise to Global Consulting & Development Associates, translating and proofreading materials in both Albanian and English.

Betim's diverse career includes public relations responsibilities for the Danish Refugee Council Kosovo, where he led content creation for multiple platforms, planned publicity campaigns, and organised large-scale promotional events. He also made significant contributions to the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo as an Administrative/Language Assistant, overseeing office administration, arranging official meetings and providing crucial translation services.

From 2008 to 2012, Betim worked as the Press and Public Information Assistant at the International Civilian Office/EU Special Representative, drafting communication materials, translating media content and overseeing public affairs projects. This was complemented by a seven-year tenure as a linguist for the NATO-led KFOR initiative, during which he facilitated communications with U.S. military personnel, promoted cultural understanding and engaged in various media-related projects.

Betim's professional journey began at Caritas France as an Administrative Agent, where he coordinated cultural events, supervised local projects and performed administrative duties. Complementing his professional experience is a Master's in Mass Media Communication and Journalism from AAB University and a certification as Court Interpreter/Translator for the Kosovo Judicial Council.
