An Anti-Corruption Ethics and Compliance Programme for Business: A Practical Guide

Published by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime; United Nations Global Compact

This practical guide provides a globally applicable standard for anti-corruption ethics and compliance programmes for businesses. It sets out all key elements of anti-corruption ethics and compliance programmes, presenting them in concrete, actionable steps that can be applied across sectors and contexts.

The recommendations address companies of all sizes, with tailored guidance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) provided at the end of relevant chapters. Grounded in international norms, including the UN Convention against Corruption, UN Global Compact Principle Ten, the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions, the guide also incorporates good practices contributed by leading companies involved in its development.

Developed jointly by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact), the guide builds on the original 2013 publication and reflects more than a decade of evolving challenges, good practices and innovations in business integrity.
