B20 Anti-Corruption Working Group

This Policy Paper was prepared by the B20 Indonesia Integrity and Compliance Task Force, in which the Basel Institute on Governance served as Network Partner and Co-Chair in 2022.

In this document, B20 members call for stronger actions from the G20 in four key areas: (1) promote sustainable governance in business to support ESG initiatives; (2) foster Collective Action to alleviate integrity risks; (3) foster agility in counteracting measures to combat money laundering/terrorist financing risks; (4) strengthen governance to mitigate exacerbated cybercrime risks.

The B20 leads engagement with G20 governments on behalf of the international business community. In 2014, the B20 focused on developing a set of clear, actionable recommendations that drive global economic growth and create jobs.

In this report, the B20 Anti-Corruption Working Group examined corruption risk issues across the four B20 taskforces:

• financing growth
• trade
• infrastructure & investment
• human capital.

The recommendations provided address each of the taskforce areas of focus, and has also put forward separate overall recommendations that cut across each of the taskforces and impact the global economy as a whole.
