International Anti-Corruption Day Conference 2026

International Anti-Corruption Day is a chance to celebrate the people and organisations working against corruption – and to show what their efforts mean in practice for people’s lives, public services, the environment, economies and institutions.

On 9 December 2026, UNODC, the OSCE and the Basel Institute on Governance will bring together diplomats, policymakers, practitioners and experts in Vienna and online. Reflecting the theme Connecting the Dots: Exposing the Links Between Corruption and Crime, the conference will examine how corruption enables organised crime, helps illicit profits move through the global financial system and weakens the institutions meant to protect society.

Through a series of lively, cross-disciplinary discussions, the event will connect this wider theme to practical challenges: working with the private sector, harnessing AI against corruption, protecting climate and environmental action, addressing the links between cryptoassets and corruption, strengthening institutional oversight and safeguarding public money.

It will celebrate progress, showcase practical approaches from different regions and sectors and identify opportunities for stronger cooperation to prevent corruption, follow the money and disrupt the criminal networks it enables.

About International Anti-Corruption Day 2026

The theme of this year’s International Anti-Corruption Day is “Connecting the Dots: Exposing the Links Between Corruption and Crime”.

Corruption makes organised crime possible by creating opportunities for criminal networks to operate, profit and evade detection. Behind these crimes lies a common thread: illicit profit.

By exposing the links between corruption and the crimes it enables and following illicit financial flows, authorities can uncover criminal networks, disrupt their business models and bring those responsible to justice.

The International Anti-Corruption Day 2026–2027 campaign calls on governments, authorities and businesses to uncover hidden connections and follow the money to prevent corruption from enabling crime.

It highlights the need to strengthen financial integrity and accountability, enhance international cooperation and equip authorities with the tools and capacities required to prevent and combat corruption, trace illicit financial flows and disrupt organised crime.
