Soji Apampa
Member of the Advisory Network
Soji Apampa is an international governance, anti-corruption and political economy expert with over 30 years of experience designing and implementing reforms that strengthen institutional integrity, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and accountability across Africa. He is Co-Founder of The Integrity Organisation and Chief Executive Officer of the Convention on Business Integrity (CBi), where he has led pioneering work on business integrity, Collective Action and corruption prevention.
His career spans advisory and leadership assignments for governments, regulators, businesses and international development institutions, including the World Bank, UNDP, FCDO/DFID, African Development Bank, European Union and Maritime Anti-Corruption Network. He served on the UN Global Compact International Working Group on the 10th Principle against Corruption and on the editorial board of Transparency International’s Global Corruption Report, and was an international consultant to the World Bank on the review of the use of assets repatriated to Nigeria from Switzerland.
Mr Apampa has particular expertise in translating complex governance and corruption risks into practical institutional, compliance and technology-enabled solutions. He led the development of the Corporate Governance Rating System for the Nigerian Stock Exchange, combining corporate self-assessment, stakeholder-derived integrity data and fiduciary awareness testing to create an evidence-based governance assurance mechanism. He has also led long-running Collective Action interventions with the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network to strengthen compliance, grievance mechanisms and public-private accountability across West African ports.
His work increasingly explores the intersection of artificial intelligence, political economy and governance decision-making. In 2025, he led the political-economy component of an FCDO-supported AI-enabled Political Economy Intelligence Mapping initiative, helping translate stakeholder relationships, incentives, institutional constraints and political risks into an AI-enabled decision-support system for use at federal and state levels in Nigeria. He currently leads an initiative establishing a public-private partnership for financial information sharing, examining institutional relationships, incentives, trust and implementation risks relevant to combating illicit finance.
Mr Apampa has undertaken governance and political-economy assignments across Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia and the United Kingdom. His distinctive expertise lies in connecting political economy, institutional reform, corporate compliance, corruption prevention and emerging technology to develop governance systems that are practical, evidence-driven and responsive to how institutions and markets actually behave.
