Launch of the Minerals Corruption Working Group
The minerals sector is confronting major challenges that demand not only urgent, but coordinated action. For this reason, the Countering Environmental Corruption Practitioners Forum is launching a new Minerals Corruption Working Group.
Corruption remains a defining feature of mineral extraction worldwide, undermining regulations, enabling environmental destruction and diverting revenues away from national economies.
The new Working Group will offer a free, collaborative space to share experiences, identify common challenges, develop joint solutions and strengthen professional networks across the minerals value chain.
The first session "From Diagnosis to Action: Building Solutions Together" will lay the foundations for future collaboration. Participants will discuss:
- Which topics should we prioritise?
- What experience do we all bring from our current roles?
- What are your expectations for the Working Group?
Who should attend
The sessions of the Working Group are open to any professional interested in understanding and addressing corruption challenges across any stage of the minerals value chain. There is no fee to become a member.

The online session will be held on Zoom in English, French and Spanish, and under the Chatham House Rule.
