9th Basel Arbitration & Crime Conference

The 9th annual edition of the Basel Arbitration & Crime Conference will will bring together leading arbitrators, judges, prosecutors and related professionals to examine the evolving relationship between arbitration and state justice.

Discussions will focus on jurisdiction, substantive law, evidence and enforcement – covering economic crime as a threshold issue in arbitration, the ICC’s work on rules of evidence, the interplay between state criminal proceedings and investment and commercial arbitration, and the impact of sanctions law on arbitration and award.

The conference is organised by the Competence Centre Arbitration and Crime led by Professor Mark Pieth and Dr Kathrin Betz, with the support of the Basel Institute on Governance, the International Academy of Financial Crime Litigators, the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law and the University of Basel’s Faculty of Law.
