Senior Specialist, Corruption Prevention
Meissy Sabardiah joined the Basel Institute on Governance in June 2026 as a Senior Specialist, Corruption Prevention, based in Indonesia.
She is part of the Green Corruption Programme aimed at strengthening integrity systems and mitigating corruption risks in environmental governance, forestry and natural resource sectors. Prior to joining the Basel Institute, Meissy spent over 15 years working on governance reform, anti-corruption and justice sector programmes in Indonesia. She has held leadership roles in donor-funded initiatives supported by USAID, DFAT and UN agencies, working closely with government institutions, the judiciary, civil society organisations, universities and development partners.
Meissy has supported major reform initiatives involving the Supreme Court, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas). For example, she helped develop Indonesia’s first sentencing guidelines for corruption cases and supported digital governance initiatives aimed at improving transparency, public access to justice and corruption risk mitigation within the justice sector.
Meissy holds a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Indonesia.
