Green Corruption: can compliance save the day?

This in-person event with the Ethics and Compliance Switzerland Working Group on Anti-Bribery and Corruption looks at the topic of Green Corruption.

Green Corruption is a concept increasingly espoused by the conservation community and governments alike. It reflects the emerging understanding that corruption is a major driver for environmental devastation by undermining policy objectives, thwarting law enforcement efforts, distorting climate financing and rendering conservation efforts ineffective.

The Basel Institute on Governance has, for the last five years provided technical advice to law enforcement agencies as well as capacity building and systems strengthening to environmental agencies and state-owned enterprises.

Juhani Grossmann, Head of the Green Corruption programme, will host a discussion for members of Ethics and Compliance Switzerland to reflect on the lessons learned over the last five years, including how Green Corruption affects Switzerland-based companies’ risk profiles and how the green energy transition process will impact these evolving themes.
