OECD Forum on Responsible Mineral Supply Chains

The Basel Institute is co-hosting an event on mining governance at the OECD Forum on Responsible Mineral Supply Chains, which will take place on 21-24 May 2024 at the OECD Headquarters in Paris.

The session – Tripling renewables by 2030: Why mining governance matters for the energy transition – will explore why mineral sector governance matters for the energy transition. It will show how governments and companies can leverage the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Standard, OECD Due Diligence Guidance and other tools to identify and tackle governance and corruption risks.

The 17th edition of the OECD Forum will reflect longstanding and emerging priorities in fostering responsible mineral supply chains, with sessions spanning often overlooked conflict risks, development minerals, regional sessions on gold supply chains, policy cohesion in an evolving regulatory landscape, and the role for responsible business conduct in government-to-government agreements on transition minerals.
