[{"data":1,"prerenderedAt":41},["ShallowReactive",2],{"technical-assistance-and-domestic-efforts-for-asset-recovery-cosp11-special-even-2888":3,"i-heroicons:arrow-left-20-solid":36},{"id":4,"title":5,"body":6,"date_start":7,"date_end":7,"organiser":8,"type":9,"topics":10,"nid":12,"links":13,"slug":20,"summary":21,"image":22,"tags":34,"countries":35},291,"Technical assistance and domestic efforts for asset recovery (CoSP11 special event)","\n  \n      \n              \n\n\n      \n  \n\n\n\n\u003Cp>This session focused on technical assistance and domestic efforts to enhance international cooperation in transnational corruption and money laundering cases. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>It included a case study from Kenya which benefited from support by the International Anti-Corruption Coordination Centre, demonstrating how early informal cooperation, technical assistance and parallel criminal and civil proceedings can generate valuable cross-border intelligence and enable effective asset recovery. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>The second part focused on domestic efforts to boost international cooperation under UNCAC, with examples from India and the UAE showing how strong legal frameworks, inter-agency coordination and technology-enabled direct communication between central authorities can significantly reduce delays in mutual legal assistance. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>In sum, the panel demonstrated how national governments can improve asset recovery outcomes by adequately resourcing authorities, strengthening domestic coordination, enabling trusted agency-to-agency communication, fully implementing UNCAC – including non-conviction-based confiscation – and executing confiscation orders swiftly before assets dissipate.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\u003Cp>This special event takes place in hybrid format at the 11th Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention Against Corruption in Doha, Qatar.
