Goals

The Integrity Agreement within the Romanian Healthcare System aims to:

  • Generate a core of integrity to radiate throughout the health system, public and private, and related industries by promoting these fundamental principles: solidarity, responsibility, integrity, inclusiveness, transparency, compliance, proactivity and respect;
  • Increase cooperation between institutions from different sectors of the healthcare system by creating joint initiatives and actions in order to support integrity and accountability in the healthcare system;
  • Establish an advocacy force in order to develop and promote among decision-makers matters of healthcare public policy or legislative proposals, mechanisms for monitoring and enhancing transparency and integrity and for the efficient spending of public funds.

Activities

Through this Pact, the signatories undertook to make their own contribution to building change for the better in the Romanian healthcare system. This involved focusing on integrity, accountability and transparency, as well as combating corruption and unethical behaviour in both the public and private health systems.
