Collective Action Agreement to Promote Integrity in the Legal Professions

This initiative brings together in-house lawyers from Argentina and seeks to promote integrity, transparency and compliance with the rule of law in the legal professions.

The Collective Action agreement to promote integrity in the legal professions consists of a pledge upon which corporate in-house lawyers from the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Latin America, Argentina Chapter commit themselves to ethics, transparency and anti-bribery rules. The agreement develops the principle established by Article 2 of the Rules of Professional Ethics of the Bar Association of the City of Buenos Aires, which prohibits lawyers from “advising any fraudulent act”.

It established that the Transparency Program of the Law Department of the University of San Andrés and the ACC Argentina Chapter will act as facilitators of the initiative, and will accompany the group of lawyers by tracking the implementation of the agreement. This will entail assessing and reporting findings to the members, answering interpretive consultations related to the scope of the pledge, and upon requirement, facilitating disputes resolutions among members of the Association, and will promote the future inclusion of other members of the profession.
