Simone Mezzabotta joined the Basel Institute in September 2023 as Anti-Corruption Research Intern with the Private Sector team. He supports the team in the analysis and redesign of the back-end of the B20 Collective Action Hub database and assists with ongoing research projects.
Prior to joining the Institute, Simone worked as a Junior Researcher at Mondo Internazionale, an Italian association operating in the field of cultural diplomacy, where he drafted analytical policy reports for external partners and clients on EU-Africa relations, global political risks, and EU-Russia relations.
Simone graduated cum laude from the Master’s in International Governance and Diplomacy at Sciences Po, Paris and summa cum laude from the Bachelor’s in Diplomacy and International Affairs at the University of Bologna.
