Sandrine Plückebaum joined the Basel Institute on Governance in June 2022 for a six-month period as part of a professional re-orientation. Her focus is on legal issues and policy work, as well as supporting the Basel Institute's private sector team with compliance mandates.
Sandrine is an accomplished legal professional whose career has involved senior roles as corporate, regional and global counsel in international entities. These include in the fields of life sciences (URGO, Aventis and Sanofi) and in the agrochemicals sector (Syngenta) in France, Switzerland and the US.
In these roles, she was exposed to numerous fields of law including: a wide range of contracts and legal procedures; complex international transactions in M&A; agreements in the field of corporate and commercial law; litigations and international arbitrations; compliance and risk management for Africa and the Middle East; regulatory affairs; intellectual property; and corporate finance.
Sandrine is a graduate in Business and Pharmaceutical Law from the University of Paris XI and holds an MBA from Georg Simon Ohm Management Institute in Germany.
