Isys Lam joined the Basel Institute and its International Centre for Asset Recovery (ICAR) in September 2021, initially as a Junior Legal Researcher and from January 2022 as a Legal Researcher. In her function, she assists ICAR staff through desk-based research into asset recovery-related issues, including the identification and summation of legislation, case law and academic papers relevant to ongoing ICAR projects.

Prior to joining the Institute, Isys worked for the International Institute of Humanitarian Law and volunteered for several NGOs including TRIAL International and the Platform for Peace and Humanity.

Isys holds a Master's degree in International Security, Defence and Competitive Intelligence, as well as a university degree in International Humanitarian Law from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Nice.
